Jewellery Pouch: Please choose “Plus Pouch” add-on option in the drop down menu to purchase ONE Corrosion Intercept® Anti-Tarnish Fabric Pouch. If you would like to purchase more than one pouch please request a custom order. Measuring 4 x 5.5 inches, the pouches are designed to protect your raw copper jewellery against tarnish and corrosion. The anti-tarnish matrix is printed on the inside of the drawstring pouch. They provide clean, non-toxic, environmentally friendly, non-abrasive, long term protection from corrosive gases. Intercept Technology does not offgas (the release of corrosive gases) like charcoal based products can, and does not leave any detectable deposits, it does not contain volatile chemicals, or oils.
Fitting: This design can be fitted by sliding the bangle over the fingers/knuckles onto the wrist. The metal has been work hardened to retain the shape for longevity. Please do not attempt to open/adjust the size of the bangle as it will not take excessive movement.
Sizing: This depends on your knuckle size (to get the bangle over your hand) and how snug you like the fit. A bangle is a closed bracelet and should be just big enough to slide on over the broadest part of your knuckles. The best way to ensure a good fit is to measure either the inner diameter or the inside circumference of a bangle you already own that fits you well.
Measuring Guide: If you do not have a bangle to measure, it can be difficult to buy the right size online. If your wrist size is much smaller than the broadest part of your knuckles then the bangle may fit too loosely on the wrist, even if the measurement over the knuckles is the right size for you. Read over this page for your guide to measuring your bangle sizes.
Copper Properties: Raw copper is known for its’ ancient healing properties, it is rumoured that the mineral can be absorbed into the skin when worn as jewellery, and is associated with relief of symptoms of arthritis and poor circulation. In the metaphysical world copper is said to aid energy flow, amplifies physic abilities and helps with communicating with other dimensions. Seen as a grounding metal, the vibrational frequencies can move between the spirit and physical realms. This bracelet is not treated with a varnish or lacquer so as not to reduce down the associated medical benefits. This means the copper will tarnish and patina over time and will be prone to finger-marks. We do not claim the medical benefits, please consult with your doctor prior to purchase.
After Care: Our raw copper bangles are not treated with a varnish or lacquer. It will form a natural dark/dull patina over time and will also be prone to finger-marks. Please avoid contact with water, moisture, oil, solvents, chemicals. Over time the surface will form a natural dark patina.
Cleaning: This copper cuff can be polished / cleaned to remove the natural patina. Use a jewellers polishing cloth to restore the sheen. or, mix a solution with warm water and a few drops of fresh lemon or lime juice, with one teaspoon of salt, mixing it thoroughly together. Place the copper cuff into the solution and leave for about five minutes. When the time is done, rinse in water and if needed you can repeat the process.
Green Skin: Depending on the acidic levels in your body, some people experience discolouration of the skin with a green/blue tinge when wearing raw copper jewellery. This is a natural harmless reaction called ‘oxidisation’ when oxygen and your body’s natural oils combine to create a layer of copper carbonate on top of your skin. Most likely found when wearing rings and bracelets that fit snugly against your body causing you to sweat between the copper and skin. This is not a copper allergy, as it is rare to be allergic to copper due to its anti-microbial properties. Read more about why copper turns skin green here.
