Bespoke Jewellery for Ashes
In May 2024 my beloved dog Abbie has sadly passed away. She was my best friend and has been by my side for 14 years. I feel blessed that we returned to the island for the last months of her life, which gave her such joy to be on the beach again. This photo was taken a few days before her passing doing what she loved and enjoying the warm sunshine. Rest in peace my beautiful girl.
I wanted to find a way to keep some of her ashes with me, and knew of a glass artist that may help. I contacted Madeline Bunyan after browsing her memorial glass pendant designs on her website www.madelinebunyan.com as I was looking for something to be custom made. Madeline was so helpful and she helped me work towards a design that I was happy with. Being a fellow artist, I think I am rather fussy over design. Whoops! I posted her some of my dog's ashes out and have now been reunited with my doggy through her jewellery design.
At such a difficult time, I'd like to say a huge thank you to Madeline for being so kind and professional throughout. It took me a while to find the courage to open her ashes and package them up, which was much more difficult than I thought. I am so happy with the final design, I shall wear it and treasure it forever.
